Communicative Disorders Scholarship

Sertoma’s Scholarship for the Hard of Hearing or Deaf has been the premier award for students who are deaf or hard of hearing since it began in 1994. The scholarship is open to graduating high school students and current undergraduates who are entering or continuing work toward a four-year bachelor’s degree in any field.
Eligibility requirements
- Documented bilateral hearing loss of at least 40 dB, confirmed on an audiogram using SRT and PTA measurements.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Enrollment must be full-time in a bachelor’s program at a college or university located in the United States. (Graduate programs, associate degrees, community college attendance, and vocational training programs are not eligible.)
- A cumulative minimum GPA of 3.2 on an unweighted 4.0 scale is required. GPA should be calculated as follows:
- High school seniors: cumulative GPA includes grades 9–11 plus first-semester 12th grade.
- College freshmen: cumulative GPA includes all high school grades plus first-semester college work.
- College sophomores and above: cumulative GPA is based on all completed college-level semesters.
- Annual application window: November 1 through March 31.
