About AMVETS
Founded in 1944 and chartered by Congress, AMVETS (American Veterans) is one of the nation’s most inclusive Congressionally chartered veterans service organizations, representing the interests of roughly 20 million veterans. AMVETS offers scholarships and grants to Veterans, Active Duty, Guard and Reserve members, as well as spouses, children, and grandchildren, and intends these awards to fill financial gaps remaining after all available federal and state grants or scholarships have been applied.
AMVETS mission
To protect and advance benefits for all American veterans who have served honorably and to improve the quality of life for veterans, their families, and their communities through leadership, advocacy, and services.
