AEA Educational Foundation Scholarship

Established in 1957, the Aircraft Electronics Association (AEA) now represents nearly 1,300 member companies in over 40 countries. Membership includes approved maintenance organizations that focus on the maintenance, repair, and installation of aircraft electronics systems for general aviation aircraft. General application note - Deadlines are shown with each scholarship below. Please ensure all required materials are submitted by the stated date. Scholarships 1) Gene Baker Memorial Scholarship — $1,000 - Eligibility: Available to AEA members and their children, grandchildren, or dependents. - Use: Can be applied toward tuition for any field of study at an accredited college or university. - Background: Named for Gene Baker, AEA’s first executive director. - Deadline: Completed applications must be received by April 1, 2026. 2) Jim Cook Honorary Scholarship — $1,000 - Eligibility: Open to AEA members and their children, grandchildren, or dependents. - Use: Payable toward tuition for any accredited college or university program. - Background: Honors Jim Cook, the inaugural chairman of the AEA Educational Foundation. - Deadline: Completed application must be received by April 1, 2026. 3) Chuck Freeland Memorial Scholarship for Flight Training — $3,500 - Eligibility: Employees of AEA member companies who intend to pursue a recreational or private pilot certificate. - Background: Named in memory of Chuck Freeland, former AEA board member and secretary. - Deadline: Completed applications must be received by April 1, 2026. 4) Chuck Peacock Memorial Scholarship — $1,000 - Eligibility: High school seniors or college students planning to attend, or currently attending, an accredited aviation management program. - Background: Established by Wanda Peacock in memory of her husband, Chuck Peacock, the AEA founder who attributed his success to aviation and business management skills. - Deadline: Applications can be submitted until midnight April 1, 2026. 5) David Arver Memorial Scholarship — $1,000 - Eligibility: High school seniors or college students who plan to attend, or are attending, an accredited avionics or aircraft maintenance program. - Background: Donated by Dutch and Ginger Arver in memory of their son David; Dutch Arver served on the AEA board for years before retiring. - Deadline: Applications can be submitted until midnight April 1, 2026. 6) Dutch and Ginger Arver Scholarship — $1,000 - Eligibility: High school seniors or college students planning to attend, or currently enrolled in, an accredited avionics or aircraft maintenance program. - Deadline: Applications can be submitted until midnight April 1, 2026. 7) Johnny Davis Memorial Scholarship — $1,000 - Eligibility: High school seniors or college students planning to attend, or enrolled in, an accredited avionics or aircraft maintenance program. - Background: Named for Johnny Davis, former president of Dallas Avionics (Dallas, Texas), who supported the general aviation community for more than 30 years and served on the AEA board. - Deadline: Applications can be submitted until midnight April 1, 2026. 8) Lee Tarbox Memorial Scholarship — $2,500 - Eligibility: High school seniors or college students planning to attend, or currently attending, an accredited avionics or aircraft maintenance program. - Background: Sponsored by Pacific Southwest Instruments. - Deadline: Applications can be submitted until midnight April 1, 2026.
