Allen L. Keeney Scholarship

Overview
The Allen Keeney Scholarship honors the legacy of Allen Keeney, a longtime art instructor at Rock Springs High School and an active figure in the Rock Springs community. From 1971 through 1991 he served as director of the Community Fine Arts Center, where he was instrumental in introducing theater and other fine arts programming to Sweetwater County—including ballet and symphony presentations. The scholarship was established to assist students with financial need who wish to pursue art studies at the college level.
Priority and fields of study
Applicants planning to continue formal study in the visual or performing arts receive first consideration; however, candidates seeking support for any area of college study will be considered.
Eligibility
- Graduating seniors of Rock Springs High School are eligible to apply.
Award amount and duration
- Amount: $500
- Length: One year. Recipients are eligible to submit an application for renewal in later years.
Application materials
As part of the application, candidates must respond to the required essay prompts and upload images of five original artworks. Applicants must also supply contact information for two references.
