Jason Haight Academic Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by Wyoming Community Foundation
The Jason Haight Academic Scholarship was created by Bruce and Jillian Haight to honor the memory of their son, Jason, and his passion for learning. The fund aims to provide a promising student with financial support to pursue further education in the spirit of Jason’s own academic and personal achievements.
About Jason
Jason grew up on a ranch outside Gillette. He graduated from Campbell County High School as his class valedictorian and was recognized as a National Merit Scholar. He went on to George Washington University as a Presidential Scholar in the GW honors program. While at GW he belonged to the Interfraternity Council and Tau Epsilon Pi, and competed on the university’s intercollegiate debate team, earning multiple awards. In 1995 he completed a Bachelor of Business Administration summa cum laude and received the Henry Cowles Award for outstanding scholastic performance and leadership potential in international business. During his undergraduate summers he worked as a law clerk at firms in Washington, D.C., and in Wyoming. An avid outdoorsman, Jason enjoyed biking, climbing, swimming, and golf. In the 1994–1995 academic year he began studies at Duke University School of Law, where he was named a Nixon Scholar — an annual honor given to a law student who shows exceptional promise in international affairs.
