Mabel C. Sargent Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by Wyoming Community Foundation
Introductory background
Mabel Sargent was a dedicated nurse and community-minded worker who split her professional life between nursing in Denver, Colorado, and business interests in Wyoming. In 1947 she and her husband, Newell Sargent, bought Fremont Beverages, Inc. in Wyoming, and Mabel continued to work diligently thereafter. After Mabel was killed in a traffic collision caused by a drunk driver, Newell established a scholarship in her memory to support students pursuing nursing.
