Jack and Marci McMicken Scholarship

Overview
This scholarship is reserved for either members or immediate family members of the Amarillo Bowling Association, the Amarillo Women’s Bowling Association, or the Amarillo Young Bowling Alliance. It does not use the American Athletic Foundation (AAF) general application. The award is open across all 26 counties.
Target applicants
Primarily for high school students. (If you are currently enrolled in college and applying, see the college transcript requirement below.)
Application deadline
Complete applications and all required supporting documents must be received by 12:00 noon on the second Friday in March.
Required attachments (must be included with your application)
- Official transcripts
- High school applicants: an official 7‑semester transcript that includes fall semester grades. Include a dual‑credit transcript if you have taken dual‑credit courses.
- College applicants: an official transcript showing the most recently completed college coursework.
- Standardized test scores (high school applicants): ACT and/or SAT scores. No additional score report is necessary if those scores already appear on the back of your official high school transcript.
- IRS Form 1040 for the household.
- As an alternative to the 1040, you may upload an Electronic Student Aid Report (SAR) — only if you did NOT import your tax data directly from the IRS. The SAR must display the dollar amounts for verification: parent’s adjusted gross income (line 85) and your adjusted gross income (line 36).
- Two letters of recommendation
- One must come from a high school teacher you have had.
- The second should be from a pastor, employer, coach, mentor, or similar non‑family adult. Letters written by family members are not acceptable.
- Resume
- Keep it to two pages or fewer and include significant information not already shown in your application or essay (for example: volunteer/community service, clubs, employment, special activities).
Make sure every required document is uploaded/submitted by the stated deadline.
