Cerebral Palsy Scholarship

Overview
ABC Law Centers: Birth Injury Lawyers awards a single annual scholarship of $1,000 to a student living with cerebral palsy. The purpose of this scholarship is to raise awareness about cerebral palsy and to recognize the accomplishments of those affected by CP.
Important dates and selection
- Submissions will be accepted beginning June 30.
- All application materials must be received by July 31.
- A panel of judges will review eligible entries and select one winner.
Eligibility
To qualify, applicants must:
- Be enrolled at an institution of higher education located in the United States.
- Have a diagnosis of cerebral palsy.
- Hold a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Note: The scholarship is not open to current or prospective clients of ABC Law Centers: Birth Injury Lawyers (owned by Reiter & Walsh, P.C.).
Required application materials
Applicants must submit all of the following:
- A completed application form.
- An official or unofficial academic transcript.
- A response to the prompt below (see format options).

Response options and formatting guidelines
You may respond in one of two ways:
1) Essay
- Length: about 750–1,000 words.
- Formatting: 12‑point Times New Roman font, double-spaced.
- Include your last name, page numbers, and the scholarship name in the header.
- Submit the essay as a PDF.
2) Creative project
- Examples: photography series, video or multimedia presentation (videos should be no longer than five minutes), creative writing, performance piece, or other original work that addresses the prompt.
- If submitting a video or multimedia file, ensure it meets the five-minute maximum.
Submission instructions
Submit your materials via the online Google Submission Form. All required documents must be uploaded and received by the July 31 deadline to be considered.
Award details and publicity
- The single $1,000 award will be issued as a check made payable to the school or program where the student is enrolled.
- ABC Law Centers will feature the scholarship winner in a published profile that will include a brief biography, the name of the winner’s university, and a photo.
