Jay Kennedy Scholarship — overview and requirements
Overview
The annual Jay Kennedy Scholarship honors the late King Features editor and was established with an initial grant from the Hearst Foundation / King Features Syndicate, along with subsequent generous contributions from cartoonists such as Jerry Scott, Jim Borgman, Patrick McDonnell and many others. Applications are evaluated by the board of directors of the National Cartoonists Society Foundation (NCSF). One recipient is selected from a pool of outstanding college cartoonists each year; the winner is announced in April and is recognized at the NCS Reuben Awards Convention, an event attended by many of the world’s leading cartoonists.
