CJ Davidson Scholarship

Scholarship Sponsored by Family, Career and Community Leaders of America Texas

Value: $18,000.00
Awards Available: 10

Introduction
The Texas Association, Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (Texas FCCLA) will award ten (10) scholarships to exemplary members who intend to attend an accredited college or university in Texas and pursue a major in Family and Consumer Sciences.

Award Amount and Payment Schedule
Each scholarship is valued at $18,000 and will be disbursed in eight (8) installments of $2,250 across eight semesters. Payments will be made to the college or university the recipient attends. Continued eligibility under the scholarship rules is required for each disbursement, and recipients must provide required documentation each semester to receive funds.

Who May Apply (Eligibility)
- Citizenship/Residency: Applicants must be United States citizens and residents of the State of Texas, or be born in the United States and residents of Texas. If an applicant’s place of birth shown on the application or transcript is outside the United States, acceptable proof of U.S. citizenship must be supplied.
- Academic Standing: Applicants must be graduating seniors ranked in the top one-quarter (1/4) of their class or have an unweighted 4.0-scale GPA of at least 3.5 at the end of the first grading period of their senior year. Class ranking must be verified on the official transcript or by a certification from an appropriate school official. Report scholastic average on the application as a numerical percentage or as a GPA with the scale clearly indicated. If the grade scale differs from 4.0, include an explanation on the transcript or with the application.
- Graduation: Applicants must graduate at the end of the spring semester immediately following the scholarship award year and must have passed required EOC exams as shown on the transcript.
- College Entrance Exam: Applicants must have taken the SAT or ACT and provide official proof of scores (on the transcript or via an official test report). The test date must be shown. The highest single-test score will be used for review; scores from different test administrations will not be combined.
- FCCLA Membership: Applicants must be active, in-good-standing members of an affiliated Texas FCCLA chapter for at least one year and must be eligible to compete for an FCCLA college scholarship that would begin in the fall semester of the award year.
- College Enrollment and Major: Applicants must have applied to and plan to enroll in an accredited Texas college or university and intend to major in any area of Family and Consumer Sciences. Applications will not be accepted from students who have not applied for admission to a Texas institution by the application deadline.
