Overview
The SJEC Scholarship Award Program is one-of-a-kind: a coalition of engineers and related professionals who band together to support students pursuing engineering studies.
History and impact
Established in 1979, the annual SJEC scholarship program has helped 311 high school seniors and junior college students move toward careers in the engineering professions. Since its founding, the program has awarded in excess of $417,000. In 2025 alone, SJEC granted eight scholarships totaling $20,000.
Who may apply
Scholarships are available to high school seniors and students at junior colleges who intend to pursue an engineering degree.
Application requirements
- Applications must be completed by the student, with designated sections filled out by a school counselor where required.
- Include official transcripts and any relevant test scores with the submission.
How to obtain and submit an application
Applications for the 2026 awards will be distributed through schools and will also be posted online (see the downloads page) beginning after October. Fully completed applications, with supporting documents attached, must be returned to SJEC by January 15, 2026.
Selection and notification
A local SJEC review committee evaluates all submissions. Selected applicants will be notified in late January.
