Evans Scholarship

Overview
The Evans Scholarship covers full college tuition plus room and board for accomplished caddies who demonstrate financial need. Eligible candidates must show a strong history as a caddie, solid academic performance, clear financial need, and exemplary character.
Who may apply
- High school students may submit applications at the start of their senior year. College freshmen are also eligible to apply.
Eligibility criteria
- Caddie record: Applicants should have caddied regularly and successfully for at least two years and are expected to be actively caddying at their sponsoring club during the year they apply.
- Academics: Applicants must have completed their junior year of high school with better than a B average in college-preparatory courses. (For applicants in 2025, ACT and SAT scores will be optional.)
- Financial need: Applicants must demonstrate a genuine need for financial assistance.
- Character: Applicants must exhibit strong integrity, leadership, and outstanding personal character.
Application components
The scholarship application must be submitted with all supporting materials. Required items include:
- Completed online application
- CSS Profile (see timeline below)
- High School Evaluation
- Caddie Evaluation
- Letters of recommendation
- High school transcript
- Test scores (if provided)
FAFSA and CSS Profile
- Complete the FAFSA as soon as it is available, on or before October 1. Use the 2026–27 FAFSA at studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa. After submitting your FAFSA, email or mail the Scholarship Committee a copy of your 2026–27 FAFSA Submission Summary that includes the Student Aid Index (SAI) as soon as it’s available.
- The 2026–27 CSS Profile becomes available on October 1. Complete it online at cssprofile.collegeboard.org/ and submit it with the required fee as soon as possible. The Evans Scholars Foundation CSS code is 0153.
Key dates and deadlines
- Aug. 1: Application opens online. Review program details and begin your application.
- Oct. 1: FAFSA and the 2026–27 CSS Profile become available. Complete and submit both as instructed above.
- Oct. 15: All application materials and supporting documents (including the completed CSS Profile, High School Evaluation, Caddie Evaluation, recommendation letters, transcript, and any test scores) should be submitted by this date. The Scholarship Committee will begin its review after Oct. 15.
- April 1: Final scholarship decisions will be completed by this date.
Selection process
After Oct. 15 the Scholarship Committee reviews complete applications, interviews finalists, and makes the final selection. All final decisions are issued by April 1.
