FNSNA Foundation Scholarships
Scholarship Sponsored by Foundation of the National Student Nurses Association
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
- Eligibility extends to students who are currently enrolled and have matriculated in a state-sanctioned nursing program that leads to an associate degree, baccalaureate, diploma, direct-entry master’s degree, or are enrolled in an RN to BSN completion, RN to MSN completion, or LPN/LVN to RN program;
Matriculation refers to the process where a student has applied and been accepted into a state-sanctioned nursing program. (Eligibility to apply requires graduation after July 1, 2025.)
- Pre-nursing students who are taking preparatory courses for matriculation into a nursing program;
- Students who are currently attending classes and taking a minimum of six (6) credits per semester;
- Participation in nursing school organizations and/or community health activities;
- Proof of academic excellence;
- Demonstration of financial need;
- U.S. Citizen or Alien with U.S. Permanent Resident Status/Alien Registration Number;
- High school students are not eligible to apply;
- Funding is not available for graduate study unless it is for a first degree in nursing. (Students in Master’s direct-entry nursing programs are eligible)
AVAILABLE FUNDING
The NSNA Foundation provides over $500,000 in scholarships annually. Each scholarship can provide up to $10,000.
SELECTION CRITERIA
Scholarships are awarded based on academic performance, financial need, and participation in nursing student organizations and health-related community activities. Additional requirements may be set by certain sponsors.
SCHOLARSHIP AWARD TIMELINE
Scholarships will be awarded in the spring of 2025 for use in the summer school 2025 and the 2025 – 2026 academic year.
SELECTION COMMITTEE
A committee comprised of faculty and students, appointed by the NSNA Foundation, is responsible for selecting scholarship recipients.
APPLICATION AVAILABILITY
The online scholarship application for 2025-2026 will be accessible from September 9, 2024.
APPLICATION DEADLINE
Completed applications must be submitted online by January 24, 2025.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS FOR APPLICATION
Applicants must provide:
- A recent copy of nursing school unofficial transcripts, or grade report.
- Faculty Member Certification Form
- Financial Aid Certification Form
- NSNA members must include their membership number.
- Registered nurses in baccalaureate programs and licensed practical/vocational nurses in programs leading to registered nurse licensure must provide a copy of their license to be considered for the Career Mobility Scholarships.
