FON Scholarships
Scholarship Sponsored by Friends of Nursing
Introduction / History
Friends of Nursing began in 1981 when Greta Pollard and Janet Pirkey founded Friends of Nursing of the University of Denver as a nonprofit organization to provide scholarship support for the university’s nursing program. After the University of Denver discontinued its nursing program in 1985, the group adopted the name Friends of Nursing (FON) and expanded its support to nursing programs across Colorado. Today FON provides scholarships to students pursuing baccalaureate or advanced nursing degrees at nine Colorado schools of nursing.
Our Mission
