Overview
Douglas County Farm Bureau is offering four scholarships for graduating high school seniors who plan to pursue education that supports the agricultural community: two scholarships of $4,000 each for students entering a college degree program and two scholarships of $2,000 each for students entering a trade school/diploma program.
Purpose
These awards are intended to encourage and support graduating seniors from families involved in the Douglas County Farm Bureau who intend to pursue higher education or vocational training in fields that benefit agriculture and related industries.
Eligibility
- Applicant must be a graduating high school senior.
- Applicant’s family must have been a Douglas County Farm Bureau member for at least three consecutive years and have a current membership.
- Minimum cumulative high school GPA: 3.0.
- Applicant must plan to enroll full-time in a college, university, or trade school program in a field that supports the agricultural community (examples: agricultural science, biotechnology, livestock health and management, elementary education, or other agriculture-supportive disciplines).
- Application must be submitted by March 1.
