Introduction Thank you for your interest in the Fort Bend County Fair Association (FBCFA) Scholarship. The FBCFA will award $5,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors in Spring 2026. Recipients are chosen based on their involvement with the Fair, school activities, community service, and academic performance. Eligibility To be considered, applicants must meet all of the following: - Be a high school senior scheduled to graduate in the spring semester of their senior year (students from Fort Bend County public, private, or home-school programs are eligible). - Intend to enroll at an accredited Texas college or university, a Technical School in Texas, or a United States Military Academy. - Be a U.S. citizen and either reside in Fort Bend County or have a home address zoned to a Fort Bend County school. - Have participated in one or more qualifying FBCFA activities, such as Fort Bend County Fair Livestock, School Art Auction, Rodeo, FCCLA, Ag Mechanics, Horticulture Competition, Fair Queen program, or served as a Fort Bend County Fair Volunteer. - Not have been disqualified from any FBCFA competition during grades 9–12. Key Dates and Deadlines - Application/document submission: Certified mail must be postmarked by January 15, 2026. Hand-delivered applications must be received by the Fair Office by January 15, 2026 at 4:00 PM. - Recipients notified: March 2026 (via the email address listed on the application). - Scholarship Awards Reception: April 2026. Application Checklist and Requirements Required items: 1) 2026 Scholarship Application - Print application pages one-sided only and do not staple. - Enter “N/A” for any question that does not apply. - The application must be signed by the applicant, a parent, and the leader responsible for the fair qualifying event listed on the application (for example: FFA advisor, FCCLA advisor, 4-H leader, Queen Chairman, School Art Teacher, Horticulture Competition Chairman). - Verification of Fair participation may be requested. - Applications missing any required signature or information will be disqualified. 2) Official High School Transcript Official transcripts must be delivered by one of the following methods: - Emailed directly from the school to ajan@fbcfa.org - Mailed from the school in a sealed envelope stamped “Official” to the Fair Office - Included with the application in a sealed school envelope (the printed return address must be that of the school), sealed with an official school stamp or label Transcripts must arrive by the deadlines above. If an official transcript is not received by the deadline, the application will be disqualified. It is the applicant’s responsibility to confirm receipt by the Fair Office. How to Submit Your Application All application materials must be sent by certified mail (postmarked by 1/15/2026) or hand-delivered in a sealed 9"x12" envelope to the Fair Office by 1/15/2026 (hand-delivered materials must arrive by 4:00 PM). Regular mail is not acceptable. Applicants are responsible for ensuring the Fair Office receives all required documents. Mailing address (certified mail): Fort Bend County Fair Association P.O. Box 428 Rosenberg, TX 77471 Hand-delivery address (Office hours Monday–Friday, 9 AM–5 PM): Fort Bend County Fair Association 4310 Hwy 36 S Rosenberg, TX 77471 Judging Procedure - A minimum of three (3) independent judges who are not associated with FBCFA leadership will review qualified applications. - Judges will only receive applications that meet all submission requirements. - Judges’ identities and personal information are confidential and will not be shared with applicants. - Applications are evaluated on their own merit. Judges’ decisions are final; results are confidential and will not be discussed with applicants. Notification and Scholarship Reception - Applicants will be informed by email (to the address provided on the application) whether they are awarded a scholarship. - Scholarship recipients are expected to attend the Scholarship Awards Reception in Spring 2026. If a recipient cannot attend, the Fair Office must be notified in advance. A parent or sibling may attend in the recipient’s place if necessary. Scholarship Funding, Conditions, and Payment Process - Scholarship funds are disbursed in two installments: $2,500 for the Fall 2026 semester and $2,500 for the Spring 2027 semester, provided all requirements are met and documentation is submitted on time. - Recipients will receive a Scholarship Payment Request checklist via email for both the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 payments. - Before submitting the first payment request, recipients must hand-deliver a thank-you letter addressed to their scholarship sponsor to the Fair Office. The letter must be placed in an addressed, stamped envelope that remains unsealed. Failure to submit this letter as required will prevent scholarship funds from being paid. - Payment request documentation requirements: - 1st payment request (Fall 2026): An official class schedule showing enrollment in at least 12 credit hours for the Fall 2026 semester. - 2nd payment request (Spring 2027): An official Fall 2026 transcript (emailed or mailed directly from the institution to the Fair Office; screenshots are not accepted) and an official Spring 2027 schedule showing at least 12 credit hours registered. - The recipient must complete a minimum of 12 course hours in Fall 2026. If the official Fall transcript shows only 9 completed credit hours, the Spring 2027 payment will be forfeited. Mini and summer sessions are not eligible. - A minimum Fall 2026 semester GPA of 2.5 is required. Failure to meet GPA or enrollment requirements for Fall 2026 will result in forfeiture of the Spring 2027 payment. - All documentation must include the student’s legal name, number of enrolled course hours, and the official name of the Texas college/university, Technical School, or Military Academy. - Submission methods for payment requests and supporting documents: email to ajan@fbcfa.org, hand delivery to the Fair Office, or fax to 832-595-0808. Missing the assigned deadline for payment requests will result in forfeiture of the applicable scholarship payment. - Once the Fair Office confirms required documentation each semester, a $2,500 check will be mailed directly to the educational institution address provided on the payment request. - Any scholarship funds not claimed for Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 will be forfeited. General Rules - Applicants and awarded scholarships are subject to the 2026 Scholarship Rules and the FBCFA General Rules and Regulations. - Failure to follow instructions or guidelines will result in disqualification.
