Jake Jones Memorial Scholarship for the Learning Disabled

Eligible applicants for this scholarship are graduating high school seniors hailing from any of the 26 northernmost counties in the Texas Panhandle. To qualify, students must have a minimum GPA of 2.5. The scholarship seeks individuals who display integrity, ambition, and good moral character, along with a strong aspiration to pursue higher education. Applicants should be able to demonstrate their ability to overcome challenges posed by their learning disability and uphold high standards of values, including loyalty to friends, family, and faith. The scholarship allows students to major in any field at the college or university of their choice.
Eligible Counties: All 26 northernmost counties in the Texas Panhandle
Academic Level: High School
The Jake Jones Family and the Claude community established this scholarship in 1995. It is specifically designed to support learning-disabled graduating seniors in the Texas Panhandle.
Qualifications
- High school seniors graduating from any of the 26 northernmost counties in the Texas Panhandle with a documented learning disability
- Display of integrity, ambition, good moral character, and a strong aspiration for higher education
- Ability to demonstrate overcoming challenges related to the learning disability
- Upholding high standards of values, including loyalty to friends, family, and faith
- A cumulative high school GPA of 2.5 or above
- Intention to major in any field at a Texas college or university of their choice
