Henry Hamilton Scholarship

This scholarship opportunity is open to high school seniors on the verge of graduation or students currently enrolled in college, hailing from any of the 26 northernmost counties of the Texas Panhandle. The scholarship is specifically designed for those who have chosen to pursue a major in Engineering or Environmental Science. The recipient has the freedom to choose any school they wish to attend.

The establishment of this scholarship was made possible through the combined efforts of Xcel Energy employees, the Xcel Energy Foundation, and the friends and family of Henry Hamilton.
Eligibility Criteria
A) The applicant must either be a high school senior about to graduate or a student currently enrolled in college, originating from any of the 26 topmost counties of the Texas Panhandle.
Value of Scholarship
The scholarship provides $500 per semester for a maximum of 2 semesters.
Conditions for Scholarship
The disbursement of the scholarship each semester is subject to the following conditions:
- The recipient must enroll in college in the fall semester immediately after being selected;
- The recipient must maintain full-time student status, which typically means taking at least 12 credit hours per semester for undergraduate studies;
- The recipient must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher throughout their college education; and
- The recipient must attend an accredited college or university and major in either Engineering or Environmental Science.
