Science Ambassador Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by Cards Against Humanity
The Ambassador Scholarship for Science
This is a yearly scholarship of $20,000 for tuition, sponsored by Cards Against Humanity. It is designed for women and non-binary students who are pursuing studies in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
Application Process for the Upcoming Fall
The application process for the 2026 academic year will commence this fall. To apply, you are required to create a three-minute educational video where you discuss a STEM topic that you are enthusiastic about. To get an idea of what we are looking for, you can view videos from previous winners. The scholarship is open to high school seniors and undergraduate college students. Your video should meet the following criteria:
- It should be a mini-lecture, not a personal statement. Imagine you are a lecturer addressing a class. Your goal is to educate us.
- The video should be clear, creative, accurate, and demonstrate your passion for the subject. We appreciate unique and memorable approaches to topics. Your video doesn't have to be high-tech or fancy. The production value is not a determining factor.
- The video should not exceed three minutes. Any video longer than this will not be considered. There are no exceptions to this rule!
- The video can be about any STEM topic, not necessarily your field of study. Choose a topic that you find exciting and intriguing. We are not necessarily interested in the latest scientific news (unless that's what you're passionate about).
- The information in the video should be scientifically accurate. We encourage you to cite the sources you used for your research. Ideally, this should be done in a slide or frame at the end of your video. You can use any citation format you prefer.
- The video should be uploaded to YouTube and set to ‘public.’ There are no exceptions to this rule!
An advisory board made up of women and non-binary professionals with advanced degrees in a variety of STEM fields will review the applications and select the finalists. Finalists will be contacted in early 2026 to submit additional materials. Five winners will be selected in the spring of 2025, each receiving a $20,000 scholarship. The scholarship funds will be sent directly to the winners' colleges or universities in the fall of 2026.
