Nursing Scholarship — First Place Award
Award: One first-place scholarship in the amount of $2,750.
Overview:
This scholarship is offered to students enrolled in an accredited nursing program in Florida. The recipient will be selected based on academic performance, leadership, and commitment to improving community health.
Eligibility:
- U.S. citizen or permanent resident of Florida.
- Currently enrolled in an accredited Florida nursing school and entering the second year of study.
Deadline:
All materials must be postmarked by April 1 of the current school year.
Required nomination packet (submit all of the following):
1. A nomination letter from the nursing school’s dean or the dean’s designated representative that addresses the nominee’s:
- Leadership qualities
- Academic excellence through the completion of the first year of nursing school
- Awards, honors, special research projects, and extracurricular activities, with emphasis on examples demonstrating leadership
2. A faculty letter of recommendation.
3. A personal statement (maximum 250 words) written by the nominee describing their reasons for choosing nursing and how they plan to contribute to improving health care in their community.
4. A curriculum vitae (CV) that includes the nominee’s contact information.
Submission note: Ensure the complete packet is postmarked by April 1 of the current year.
