Florida Nurses Association Scholarships

Scholarship Sponsored by Florida Nurses Association

Value: $5,000.00
Awards Available: 30
Deadline : Jun 01, 2026

Introductory Statement
The Florida Nurses Foundation (FNF) advances nursing and healthcare by supporting research, education, and clinical practice. Through the generosity and efforts of FNA members and community supporters, the Foundation has assisted hundreds of nurses over the years. More than 30 scholarship and grant funds have been endowed by FNA members.

Who May Apply (Eligibility)
To be eligible for an FNF scholarship you must:
- Be enrolled in a nationally accredited nursing program (accreditation by ACEN, CNEA, or CCNE).
- Be a student in an LPN program or, for RNs, enrolled in an associate, baccalaureate, master’s, or doctoral program. (Doctoral study need not be limited to nursing specialties—e.g., PhD, EdD, etc., are acceptable.)
- Have completed at least one semester in your current nursing program by the application deadline of June 1.
- Have been a Florida resident for at least one year.

Application timeline and process
- Annual application period: January 1 through June 1. Applications received after June 1 will not be accepted—no exceptions.
- How to apply: Complete the online application at https://www.floridanurse.org/page/ScholarshipsGrants. Applicants are not able to apply directly to a named fund; the Foundation matches applicants to the scholarship(s) that best align with their qualifications.
- Required documents: one letter of reference and a current transcript (official or unofficial). Only completed application packets will be reviewed.
- After you submit: You will receive an email confirmation upon successful upload of your application materials. If documents are missing, you will be notified by email and must submit the required materials before June 1 for your application to be considered.

Selection timeline and award distribution
- Applicants will be notified of award decisions between July and August.
- Funds are distributed in September. Scholarship recipients are typically invited to the Annual Foundation Luncheon in September for recognition.
- Typical award amount is $1,000.
- On years when the Membership Assembly takes place, recipients may be invited to accept their scholarship at the annual awarding ceremony.
- Please do not call before August to inquire about awards.

Selection criteria
The FNF Board of Trustees evaluates applications using these factors:
- Minimum GPA requirements, unless otherwise specified by an individual fund:
- Undergraduate applicants: minimum 2.5 GPA
- Graduate applicants: minimum 3.0 GPA
- Demonstrated potential to contribute to the nursing profession and to society
- Any additional requirements specified by individual scholarship funds (see the Scholarship and Grants page at www.floridanurse.org/ScholarshipsGrants for details)

Responsibilities of applicants and recipients
- It is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure that transcripts and all required documents are received by the Foundation by the June 1 deadline; otherwise the application will be considered incomplete and ineligible.
- Keep a copy of your application materials for your records. Originals and supporting documents become the property of the Florida Nurses Foundation and are not returnable.
- Recipients who withdraw from their nursing program before completing the semester/year for which the scholarship was provided agree to repay the amount awarded.
- Recipients must agree to participate in follow-up surveys related to the scholarship program.
- Recipients consent to the public announcement and distribution of scholarship information, including publication of names and photographs via media and websites, for promotional and educational purposes.

Application content specifications
Complete every section of the online form to the best of your ability. The application will ask for:
