Ultimation Stem Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by Ultimation Industries
In 2024, the scholarship will once more be granted to a student who can showcase inventive systems and concepts for the application of conveyors in automated loading and unloading for semi-trucks and trailers. Automated Truck-Loading Systems (ATLS) serve as both the initial and final link in a fully automated supply chain.
While there is no "one-size-fits-all" ATLS system due to the need for customization based on the truck type, dock, goods, and other factors, there are certain "core components" to consider. These include skid positioning, fork extension, modifications to the truck (necessary for unloading), dock alterations, and automated conveyor systems like chain-driven live roller conveyors. These are some of the primary factors to consider when designing an ATLS.
Automated truck loading systems provide a range of benefits, including enhanced productivity, improved operator safety, and protection of products/goods, among others.
