Mental Health Education Scholarship Program
Scholarship Sponsored by Seasons in Malibu
Introduction
Seasons in Malibu, a luxury addiction treatment center, is offering a $1,500 scholarship to help spotlight the causes, effects, and treatment options related to addiction. This award is intended for students who are entering college or who are already enrolled in higher education.
Purpose
The scholarship’s goal is to encourage thoughtful writing that explains why different forms of addiction are becoming more common and proposes ways to respond to the growing number of people affected. Submissions may be grounded in personal experience or based on research, and students from any academic major are welcome to apply.

Eligibility
Applicants must be enrolled full time in high school, college, or university at the time of submission. Both students preparing to enter college and those already attending a higher education institution are eligible.
Deadlines & Selection Timeline
There are two submission windows each year. To be considered, submit your essay during one of the following periods:
- Round 1: January 1 – May 31 (Winners announced July 1)
- Round 2: July 1 – November 30 (Winners announced December 31)
Essay Requirements / Prompts
Your essay should address the following questions:
1. Why do you think the nation is facing an addiction crisis?
2. What are the consequences of addiction for individuals and for society as a whole?
3. What solutions would you propose at both the individual level and the societal level to help resolve this crisis?

By entering the scholarship, you agree that Seasons in Malibu may use the personal information you provide to administer the award and to fulfill any reporting obligations to tax authorities. Your information will not be shared with third parties for marketing purposes or otherwise disclosed beyond what is necessary to run the scholarship.
