Safe Water Scholarship

Introduction
The Outreach Committee is committed to investing in the next generation of total water professionals by awarding scholarships to students who are pursuing post-secondary education and intend to build careers in the water industry.
Eligibility and Application Requirements
- Enrollment: Applicants must be currently enrolled at a college or university in a post‑secondary program leading to a Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree.
- Career focus: Candidates should be enrolled in or actively considering a career in a water-related field.
- Application content: Complete the online application in full, including the required sections titled Goals, Interest in Field, and Leadership. Attach your most recent academic transcript and a current resume. (Required questions are identified with an asterisk *.)
- Geographic preference: Preference will be given to applicants attending school in Illinois and/or those who intend to live and work in Illinois.
Scholarship Details
- Award amount: Up to $1,000 total.
- Payment: Scholarship funds will be issued to the recipient’s educational institution for the current academic year.
- Deadline and timeline: Applications must be submitted by June 30. Awardees will be notified by August. Funds will be distributed by September 30.

Important Information for Recipients
- Payment processing: Recipients must provide all required payment information to ISAWWA. Allow 45–60 days for disbursement after submission of payment details.
- Conference benefit: Scholarship recipients will receive complimentary registration to ISAWWA’s annual WATERCON Conference.
- Eligibility restriction: Immediate family members of ISAWWA staff are not eligible for this scholarship.
- Publicity: Acceptance of an award grants permission for ISAWWA to use the recipient’s name and school for publicity purposes.
