PA Ready to Succeed Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency
Overview
The RTSS Program, administered alongside the PA State Grant Program, awards scholarships to academically outstanding students to help pay cost of attendance. For the 2023–24 academic year, awards range up to $2,500 for full-time students and up to $1,250 for part-time students, with a minimum grant of $500.
Nomination and availability
Students cannot apply directly; they must be nominated by their postsecondary institution. Because funding is limited, grants are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
Eligibility requirements
Aside from the financial-need criterion, applicants must satisfy all other PA State Grant eligibility rules and submit both a FAFSA® (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and the PA State Grant Form (SGF). In addition, nominated students must meet all of the following:
1. Academic progress: Have completed at least one academic year—defined as 24 semester credits (or the equivalent)—by the time the institution verifies academic progress for the PA State Grant Program. This verification may occur at the conclusion of the Spring or Summer term of the prior academic year.
2. Academic achievement: Possess a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 at the time the school checks academic progress for the PA State Grant Program. (Note: the minimum GPA requirement may be revised for future academic years.)
3. Family income: Have a family income at or below $126,000. (This income threshold may change annually.)
