Michael Breschi Scholarship

Introduction
This scholarship commemorates Michael Breschi, son of UNC men’s head coach Joe Breschi. USA Lacrosse supports the Michael Breschi Scholarship, which was created in 2007 following Michael’s fatal accident to honor his memory. Each year two graduating high school seniors who plan to attend college receive this award.
Eligibility
- Applicants must be graduating high school seniors with plans to enroll in college.
- The applicant’s parent or guardian must be an active lacrosse coach or official (male or female) at the youth, high school, or collegiate level.
- That parent or guardian must be employed full time by an educational institution.
How to apply
Complete the online application and upload these supporting materials:
1. High school transcript
2. Resume
3. Personal statement
4. Letters of recommendation
All application materials must be submitted by July 15.
Award details and conditions
- Two recipients are selected each year.
- Each winner receives a one-time $2,500 scholarship.
- USA Lacrosse will send the $2,500 to the recipient’s college or university after receiving that student’s transcript from the first semester or quarter.
- Scholarship recipients are responsible for confirming with their college or university that accepting this award does not conflict with institutional policies or affect financial aid packages.
- If the recipient is a collegiate scholarship-athlete, the award must comply with applicable NCAA rules at that institution.
