Excellence in Character Scholarship

Oasis Connection Ministries, a registered 501(c)(3), is now accepting applications for the 2024 Excellence in Character Scholarship Award. Three scholarships of $500 each will be awarded to graduating high school seniors from Dallas, Tarrant, and Collin counties in Texas. Children of Oasis Connection Ministries board members are not eligible.
Eligibility and selection criteria
- Must be a graduating senior enrolled at a high school located in Dallas, Tarrant, or Collin County (Texas).
- Demonstrated commitment to community service outside of school-sponsored programs and participation in school extracurricular activities. Applicants must include documentation of community service.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. A copy of the high school transcript must be submitted.
- Total family annual income must be under $50,000, per the 2024 Federal Poverty Guidelines. Applicants must provide proof of family income.
- Intention to enroll in a 2-year or 4-year college or an accredited technical school. A copy of the institution admission letter is required; the college/technical school will be contacted to verify admission before funds are released.
- A guidance counselor must endorse the applicant on the scholarship form, confirming the student is a suitable candidate for this award. Schools are encouraged to present this opportunity to their strongest qualifying students.
Award disbursement
- Three recipients will each receive $500. Scholarship payments will be made directly to the student in August 2024 after admission verification.
Application deadline and submission
- Complete applications must be received by the scholarship committee no later than 5:00 p.m. on July 19, 2024. Late or incomplete submissions will not be considered.
