Scholarship Sponsored by Sports In Action
Overview
For the eighth year running, H‑E‑B is awarding 15 Texas high school seniors $2,000 scholarships each to recognize their involvement in UIL competitions and contributions to their communities.
Award breakdown and presentation
Fifteen recipients will be chosen statewide: five students from athletics (cheer included), five from music, and five from academic UIL events. Each student will receive a $2,000 scholarship to use at the college or university of their choice. Winners will be featured during the 2026 UIL Texas Girls & Boys Basketball State Championships.
Eligibility
- Must be a Texas high school senior graduating in 2026.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.3.
- Participation in at least one UIL competition as a high school student.
- Demonstrated involvement in community service activities.
How to apply
Applications for the 2025–26 school year are now open. Applicants must complete the online application and upload all supporting documentation at the same time — incomplete submissions will not be considered.
Required materials
- Current GPA (official or self-reported as specified on the form)
- Total number of community service hours from the past 12 months
- Community service verification letters documenting those hours
- One letter of recommendation
