Spillman-Bischoff Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by Georgia Association for Nursing Education Inc.
Eligibility
- Must be a Georgia resident (submit a photo or scanned copy of a Georgia driver’s license or other proof of GA residency).
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (verified by an electronic transcript showing current GPA).
- Applicants who are not registered nurses must have completed at least one year of study (documentation required as noted above).
- Two letters of reference are required that attest to leadership, scholarship, and potential for success in nursing practice. References must be either e-signed with a verifiable e-signature or hand-signed and scanned.
Priority consideration
Applicants who meet any of the following will receive priority:
- Currently enrolled at a Georgia college, university, or school.
- Member of a professional nursing or student organization (provide a photo/scan of a membership card or other proof).
- Graduate-level post-licensure students are eligible for the Spillman-Bischoff Scholarship.
- ADN, BSN, or pre-licensure entry-level Master’s students are eligible for the Lucy Willard and Sarah Helen Killgore Scholarships.
Essay requirements
Submit a one-page essay addressing:
- Your professional goals.
- A clear 5-year plan.
- How you will contribute to advancing nursing practice and healthcare services.
- Your plan for addressing social determinants of health and reducing health inequities.
- The role you see nurses playing in improving access to and quality of health care.
How to apply
- Applications are being accepted for the GANE 2026 Student Scholarships.
- Complete and submit the electronic GANE 2026 Scholarship Application (upload all required documents to the online form before submitting).
- If you have questions, encounter problems submitting the form, or need to send additional materials, email ganegeneral@gmail.com. Include “GANE Scholarship Application” in the subject line of any related messages.
Deadline
- The completed 2025–2026 Scholarship Application must be received by November 15, 2025.
- Incomplete applications will not be considered.
Selection and award
- Candidates will be evaluated for compliance with the eligibility requirements established by the Georgia Association for Nursing Education (GANE).
- Final selections made by the Scholarship Committee will be confirmed by the GANE Board of Directors.
- Scholarship recipients will be announced and presented their awards on Saturday, February 14, 2026, during the 2026 GANE conference at The Ritz-Carlton Reynolds, Lake Oconee (near Greensboro, GA).
