Overview The St. David’s Neal Kocurek Scholarship supports Central Texas high school seniors who plan careers in healthcare and intend to enroll in a Texas college or university. Established to honor the late St. David’s Foundation President and CEO W. Neal Kocurek, Ph.D., this is the largest healthcare scholarship program in Texas. Eligible students may receive up to $60,000 in total scholarship funds over the span of their higher-education studies. 2026 Application Now Open To start the 2026 application, complete the eligibility form below. After your eligibility is reviewed and approved, you will be sent a link to the full application by email. Application deadline: January 2, 2026 Who may apply - Current high school seniors who reside in Bastrop, Caldwell, Hays, Travis, or Williamson counties - Students who plan to pursue healthcare careers - Students who expect to attend a college or university in Texas Selection criteria Applicants will be considered based on both academic achievement and demonstrated financial need. Award details - Up to $7,500 per year for undergraduate study at Texas colleges and universities, for as many as four years - The scholarship can continue for up to four years of graduate and/or medical school study at Texas institutions - Students attending Texas community colleges may receive up to $4,000 per year - Total scholarship support may reach as much as $60,000 over the course of a scholar’s higher education Additional supports Neal Kocurek Scholars receive more than financial assistance: the program offers free mental health counseling, access to tutoring, professional mentorship opportunities, and a supportive peer network.
