Yukon Kuskokwim Health Corporation Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by Yukon Kuskokwim Health Corporation
The Yukon Kuskokwim Health Corporation (YKHC) is a strong advocate for education and the employment of tribal health professionals. The corporation has established a scholarship program to motivate members of the 58 tribes it serves, their descendants, and YKHC employees in good standing, along with their immediate family members, to seek further education and training in the healthcare field.
The allocation of funds will be in accordance with P.L. 93-638, the Indian Education and Self-Determination Act. Preference will be given to applicants who are enrolled either full-time or part-time in an accredited program that leads to licensure or certification in a healthcare profession. The funds granted through this program can only be used for tuition, books, and fees. Applications that are incomplete or received after the deadline will be deferred to the next application cycle.
Applicants being considered for the YKHC Scholarship may need to undergo a criminal background check during the application process, and possibly at other times, such as at the start of the academic year. Applicants who fail subsequent criminal background checks may risk losing their funding.
Scholarship funds will be paid directly to the educational institution. Applicants seeking additional funding must submit an updated application, including transcripts from the most recent semester funded, for consideration.
