Introduction
The Flora Marie Jenkins Memorial Disability Scholarship is a national award created to support members of the disabled community who are pursuing higher education. We recognize the role a post-secondary degree plays in building a meaningful career and are proud to assist qualified students with disabilities in accessing college or university opportunities.
Award Amount and Permitted Uses
Each year one recipient receives a $5,000 scholarship. Funds may be applied toward qualified undergraduate expenses—such as tuition, textbooks, and other education-related costs—at an accredited two- or four-year institution in any chosen field of study.
Eligibility
To be considered, applicants must:
- Be a U.S. citizen or a legal permanent resident of the United States, and
- Have a documented disability, and
- Either be accepted to or currently enrolled in an accredited two- or four-year undergraduate program.
Required Documentation
Applicants must submit proof of the following:
- Medical documentation verifying the disability,
- Proof of U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency (for example: driver’s license, birth certificate, passport, etc.),
- A college acceptance letter or a current college ID, and
- The most recent transcript (either high school or college).
This scholarship is open nationally and awarded annually to one qualifying student who meets the above criteria.
