Introduction
The Jones & Swanson Community Service Scholarship reflects the firm’s dedication to promoting justice and encouraging positive local impact. It is intended to honor young people who have invested time and energy into improving their own communities.
Award
Jones & Swanson is offering one $2,500 scholarship to an incoming or currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student who has demonstrated a history of community-oriented service and leadership.
Eligibility
Applicants should meet the following requirements:
- Be either an incoming or current student at a college, university, or graduate program in the United States (accepted or enrolled at an accredited U.S. institution).
- Be at least 18 years old at the time of enrollment.
- Be a U.S. resident.
- Be in good academic standing and/or show noteworthy academic accomplishments.
- Have a documented record of meaningful community service, volunteerism, grassroots involvement, or community-based projects.
- Demonstrate innovative or impactful approaches to community improvement and an interest in developing leadership skills.
- Agree to the scholarship’s terms and submit a complete application, including the required original video entry on the scholarship topic.
Application requirements
When applying, candidates must provide personal details and supporting materials, including: name, contact information, academic information, and a photo that can be used for announcement purposes. Applicants are also required to create and submit an original video addressing the scholarship prompt via the firm’s website.
Selection
Provided applicants meet the eligibility criteria and submit a full application, the scholarship selection committee will review entries and choose the recipient based on demonstrated commitment to community service, leadership potential, innovation, and academic achievement.
Restrictions — who is not eligible
The following individuals are ineligible to apply:
- Employees of Jones & Swanson and their children.
- Previous recipients of the Jones & Swanson Community Service Scholarship.
- Applicants who are unwilling or unable to participate in an interview with a Jones & Swanson representative if selected for the award.
- Applicants who reuse the same video submission for multiple scholarships or across multiple years.
By submitting an application and materials, applicants confirm they meet the stated requirements and accept the scholarship’s terms and conditions.
