Overview
Multiple scholarships are available for nursing students and nursing programs. Each award has its own requirements and selection criteria—read each description carefully to confirm eligibility and submission requirements.
Nursing Essay Award
- Number of recipients: 3 students
- Topic: Choose one of two offered essay prompts
- Awards: 1st place $1,000; 2nd place $500; 3rd place $500
- Notes: Submit an essay responding to one of the provided topics; judging will determine the three winners and prize order.
Service Video Scholarship
- Number of recipients: 2 students
- Letters of recommendation: Two are required. One must come from a teacher or workplace manager; the second should be from the leader of your service project or from someone who was directly affected by your community service.
- Awards: 1st place $1,000; 2nd place $1,000
- Notes: Include both recommendation letters with your video submission to be considered.
Personal Nursing Video Scholarship
- Eligibility: Nurses and nursing students
- Entry: Create and submit a video 3–10 minutes long describing a personal occasion when you went above and beyond for a patient, for your school, or for fellow nursing students, and explain how the experience improved you as a nurse.
- Awards: 1st place $500; 2nd place $300; 3rd place $200
- Judging: Scholarships are awarded based on the quality and impact of the video submission.
Nightingale Scholarship (Program Award)
- Number of recipients: 1 school of nursing
- Amount: $1,000
- Purpose: To support development of leadership skills among nursing students within the school’s MASN chapter
- Who may apply: A faculty advisor or the nursing program dean must submit the application on behalf of the school. Individual students are not eligible to apply.
- Award designation: The scholarship is granted to the school of nursing (in the school’s name), not to any individual student.
Needs-Based Essay Scholarship
- Number of recipients: 2 students
- Amount: $1,000 each
- Requirement: Submit an essay of 500 words or more describing your financial need. Your statement must address your current circumstances, academic objectives, and participation in your community.
- Selection: Awards based primarily on demonstrated financial need as detailed in the essay.
