From Conflict to Growth Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by Happy Even After Family Law
Happy Even After, together with its Connecticut-based family law attorneys, is now accepting applications for the From Conflict to Growth Scholarship. One student will be awarded $2,500 for an essay that honestly examines how their parents’ divorce influenced their life path.
Deadline
- All essays must be submitted by November 30, 2025, for review by the scholarship selection committee.
Who may apply
- The scholarship is open to undergraduate and graduate students in any field of study.
- Applicants must be accepted to or currently enrolled at an accredited college, university, or graduate program in the United States.
- Candidates must agree to the scholarship’s terms and conditions and provide all requested application materials for their submission to be considered.
- For readability, applicants are encouraged to upload their essay as a PDF.
Essay prompt and length
- Topic: Describe how your parents’ divorce affected you and served as a catalyst for growth. Discuss the most challenging aspects of that period, how you initially coped and processed your emotions, and the resilience or lessons that developed as a result.
- Length: Up to 1,000 words.
Advice for a strong submission
- Include a compelling, original title.
- Provide a bibliography and/or in-line citations if you reference external sources.
Required header information
Please place a header on your essay containing all of the following:
- Your full name
- “From Conflict to Growth Scholarship” (scholarship name)
- The name of the college, university, or graduate school you attend
- Your academic ID number
- The mailing address for your institution’s financial aid office
- The financial aid office’s email address
- The financial aid office’s phone number
Selection
- Essays submitted by the deadline will be reviewed by the scholarship committee. The committee will evaluate entries based on candor, reflection, and evidence of personal growth and resilience.
