Kansas National Guard Educational Assistance
Scholarship Sponsored by Kansas National Guard
Kansas National Guard Educational Assistance helps cover a portion of tuition and fees for enlisted members of Kansas Air or Army National Guard units. Payments are limited to a rate that will not exceed what state-supported colleges and universities charge for enrollment. The exact percentage awarded varies each year depending on the number of qualifying recipients and available state appropriations. Assistance is available to members pursuing certificate, diploma, or degree programs. Full‑time enrollment is not required. This benefit is offered only for fall and spring semesters.
Eligibility requirements
- Be an active, enlisted member of the Kansas National Guard (Air or Army) in good standing
- Hold a high school diploma or a GED
- Be enrolled at a Kansas educational institution and maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA
- Have not previously earned a bachelor’s degree
- Have a FAFSA on file with the school
- Apply for Federal Tuition Assistance when it applies to your situation
- Provide an official transcript to your National Guard unit at the end of each semester
If you meet these conditions, you may be eligible for assistance for the fall and spring terms; the award amount will depend on available funding and the number of eligible students.
