Our law firm is pleased to announce The Emerson Straw Injury Law Scholarship: Overcoming Adversity After an Injury which awards $1,000 to the selected applicant. Through this scholarship, we hope to inspire others to persevere in the face of adversity and pursue their academic and personal goals with determination and courage.
Essay Requirements:
Applicants are required to submit an original essay of 750 words in length. The essay should narrate a personal story of overcoming adversity after an injury, highlighting the physical, emotional, and financial challenges faced, and how the applicant or their loved one persevered despite the obstacles.
To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be currently enrolled or about to enroll in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program, or community college in the United States. (High school students may apply if they have been accepted to an accredited college or university)
- Have a Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
To apply for the Emerson Straw Injury Law Scholarship, applicants must submit the following documents via email:
- Resume including contact details
- Academic transcript that includes cumulative GPA
- Original essay on the topic specified above
- Please submit your application along with all required documents via email to outreach@emersonstraw.com
- Please submit your materials with the subject line “[Applicant’s name] – 2025 Overcoming Adversity After an Injury Scholarship”.
- The deadline for applying with all the required documents is February 10, 2025.
