The American Pharmacists Association (APhA) Foundation serves as a nationally trusted research authority documenting how pharmacists contribute to better health care. For more than 70 years, the Foundation’s work has consistently shown that pharmacist involvement leads to improved patient outcomes. Eligibility - Have completed at least one academic year within the professional sequence of pharmacy coursework. - Maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) in professional courses. - Be an active APhA-ASP member if you are a student based in the United States or Puerto Rico. Evidence of chapter participation is required; holding a leadership office is not mandatory. - Past recipients of an APhA Foundation Student Scholarship are not eligible to apply. Students who previously applied but did not receive an award may apply again. Application materials - Academic transcript (PDF or Word). An unofficial transcript is acceptable. - Two letters of recommendation uploaded directly by recommenders through the OpenWater application portal (.doc or .pdf): - One letter from faculty addressing leadership abilities and APhA-ASP involvement. - One letter from a non-faculty referee addressing non-academic strengths. - Current résumé or curriculum vitae. - A list of pharmacy-related and non-pharmacy activities that demonstrate community engagement and skills. - An essay of up to 500 words on the assigned topic. - Note: Individual scholarships may include additional specific requirements.
