NFW Educational Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by Wisconsin Nurses Association
Purpose
The Nurses Foundation of Wisconsin offers financial support to a registered nurse living and working in Wisconsin who shows promise of making a meaningful contribution to the nursing profession within the state.
Award
A total pool of up to $4,000 is available for scholarships this year. Funds are provided through donations to the Nurses Foundation of Wisconsin.
Who may apply
Applicants must meet all of the following:
- Hold a current, active registered nurse license issued by the State of Wisconsin.
- Be a member of the Wisconsin Nurses Association (WNA).
- Be accepted to or enrolled in one of the following programs at an NLN- or CCNE-accredited school of nursing: a BSN completion program; a graduate nursing program (master’s or DNP) that does not prepare for an APRN role; or a PhD in nursing.
- Be enrolled in the academic year immediately following the application.
- Demonstrate the potential to contribute to professional nursing in Wisconsin.
- Demonstrate financial need.
Note: Previous recipients of a Nurses Foundation of Wisconsin scholarship are not eligible.
Application materials and submission
Complete the online application and upload electronic copies of the items listed below:
1. Copy of your Wisconsin RN license (State of Wisconsin Certificate of Registration).
2. Proof of current WNA membership.
3. Documentation of acceptance or current enrollment in an eligible BSN completion, master’s, DNP (non-APRN role), or PhD nursing program at an NLN- or CCNE-accredited nursing school.
4. Curriculum vitae or resume.
5. A personal letter that includes:
- Your professional goals.
- How you intend to contribute to professional nursing care in Wisconsin.
- A brief summary of your progress in the current course of study (limit one page).
6. One letter of support that speaks to your qualifications.
7. A written statement describing your financial need.
Reminder: All required documents must be uploaded to the online application. Incomplete applications or submissions from prior NFW scholarship winners will not be considered.
